In this article, you will find important information for your thyroid health. I've included ten of my favourite foods in this list that help improve thyroid health. These thyroid-friendly foods boost your health naturally!
I eat berries of all kinds; they are rich in antioxidants, which are great for
preventing damage from free radicals. We also know that the thyroid is a
storage area for toxins as much of our blood flow passes through it. Antioxidant-rich berries also have a lower glycemic index. This is great for controlling blood sugar levels and insulin secretion which is crucial for thyroid health.
Grass-fed beef comes in at number nine on my list. As we all know, thyroid requires certain nutrients, including iron. Grass-fed beef will provide us with this iron as well as vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is crucial for our energy levels, particularly if we have hypothyroidism and our thyroid isn't functioning properly.
Number eight on my list is eggs. The yolk of our eggs contains important minerals such as iodine, which the thyroid naturally needs, and selenium in trace amounts. Eating the entire egg, preferably one that was raised on a pasture, is fantastic for the health of your thyroid and will also provide you with the necessary energy and maintain muscle function.
Number seven on the list of foods that improve thyroid health are figs. Figs are known to be high in iron but they also serve other purposes such as easing constipation and supporting thyroid health if you have low thyroid function.
Grass-fed yogurt is the sixth item on my list because it maintains the microbiome's health, which is crucial. It also provides us with probiotics and calcium, both of which are necessary for thyroid metabolism.
The fifth item on my list is cod, which is naturally high in omega-3 fatty acids. We need some DHA for our bodies to properly communicate electrical signals. which is crucial for thyroid function and related to the proper operation of our entire nervous system.
Brazil nuts are number four on our list. Eating two to three Brazil nuts a day will often provide you with the daily required amount of selenium; which has been argued to be a crucial mineral for healthy thyroid function.
Alright, the third item on my list is oysters, which are rich in iodine, zinc, magnesium, and other trace minerals from the ocean that are essential for healthy thyroid function.
Shrimp ranks second on my list because it provides us with astaxanthin, which gives shrimp their lovely pink color when cooked. Astaxanthin is important for thyroid health and our omega-3 fatty acids which is vital for thyroid health since they aid in electrical signaling throughout the body and support the thyroid's normal functioning.
Seaweed is the first item on my list. I enjoy foods like kelp and other seaweeds because they provide iodine, which is essential for healthy thyroid function and the production of your active T3 and T4 thyroid hormones.
