When you start taking a B12 supplement you'll have a lot more energy and think more clearly because B12 is important for the health of our brain and nervous system. Your metabolism will improve because vitamin B12 is required for the metabolism of all of our macronutrients including: carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. 

My tips here are to make sure you’re looking for the adenosylcobalamin (sometimes labeled as cobamamide) form rather than cyanocobalamin when looking for a B12 supplement. If you already take B12 or it's in your multivitamin, please check your vitamin labels very carefully to make sure they don't say cyanocobalamin, which contains cyanide. Your body needs to break down this cyanocobalamin, and at every stage of that breakdown, you're actually releasing small amounts of cyanide into your body. 

When looking for a good B12 supplement make sure it is a whole food Vitamin B12 without any fillers, flow agents like magnesium stearate. The adenosylcobalamin form of Vitamin B12 is fantastic because it bypasses the need for something called intrinsic factor in the stomach and goes right into the mitochondria for that ATP production (energy production).
