Zinc Deficiency: Why You Should Care

Introduction

Zinc deficiency is more common than you might think. Let's go through some of the most common signs and symptoms that may indicate you're not getting enough zinc.

1. Tiredness & Low Energy

  • Feeling exhausted, even after rest
  • Trouble concentrating or brain fog 

2. Eye & Vision Problems

  • Blurry vision
  • Dry eyes

Often overlooked but strongly linked to zinc levels.

What You Can Do

If you recognize several of these symptoms, it might be time to evaluate your zinc intake. This isn't always something your doctor tests for routinely.

  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Oysters (one of the best sources)
  • Beef, lentils, chickpeas, and cashews

Zinc Supplements

If supplementing,  choose a highly absorbable form. Zinc bis-glycinate is my favorite for effectiveness and gentle digestion.
