Introduction
If you're noticing that your eyesight is not what it once was and you're looking to improve your vision, I've got five natural tips on how to do this naturally.
Tip #1: Stop Wearing Sunglasses
Don’t wear your sunglasses all the time especially first thing in the morning, you do not need your sunglasses on as that sun is rising and unless you're on a surface that is glaring, so you're out on the sand, maybe out on the water, or you're fishing and the sun is glaring that may be the time to wear your sunglasses. However, most times you don't need sunglasses. Now the reason why this is so important for your overall vision, your overall health and your circadian biology, is that you need those natural signals to come into your eyes on your skin by getting that natural sunlight exposure. If you're not allowing that process to happen you're putting yourself at risk for sunburn. Putting those sunglasses on is telling your brain that it is a cloudy day and there's no need to make your own sunscreen in your skin. This is a natural bodily process that we all have but also for our vision, we need to have those natural full-spectrum light rays coming in our eyes which of course is present in natural sunlight.
Tip #2: Wear Blue-Light Blockers
Start wearing your blue light blocking glasses when you are under artificial lights. Now these are my daytime lenses, they're more yellow, blocking out most of the blue light during the day. I have amber or red lenses for nighttime to block out all the blue light and that's going to help with sleep too. But this blue light that is going into your eyes from all of the artificial lights and the screens that you're staring at all day is very damaging not only to the lens of the eye but also to the macula at the back of your eye. It’s also damaging that collagen it's making the collagen in your eyes much more rigid and causing that cloudiness if it's in the lens causing those cataracts. So it's something that I really want you to pay attention to. Make sure if you are in front of a screen or artificial lights that you're wearing your blue light blockers.
Tip #3: Eye Support Supplements
Consider taking an eye support supplement of course always from a whole food source. It's something that I take every day and the one that I take I love it because it's got lutein and zeaxanthin which are naturally occurring from the marigold plant. These are specific carotenoids that are known to work as specific antioxidants in the eyes helping with cataracts and prevention of that. They also help to make sure that the macula is very healthy and protect those retinal cells against free radical damage. Also in the formulation are carrots, mom always said eat your carrots, of course that beta carotene which converts to active vitamin A really important for your retinol cells and for clear vision. Bilberry and ribes nigrum are herbal medicines known to help with glaucoma and balancing that pressure in the eyes, helping with cataract prevention and really helping with clear vision.
Tip #4: DHA
Tip number four for better vision is DHA. This is the important omega-3 fatty acid which is important to make sure that proper electrical signalling happens. The natural light from sunlight comes into our eyes and needs to be converted into a DC electric current. If you're lacking in DHA and you're not getting it in your diet you may want to consider supplementing with a high-quality DHA supplement.
Tip #5: Hydration
Tip number five to improve your vision naturally is proper hydration and I'm not talking about drinking more water, I'm talking about your own body's water and your own internal battery that all of your cells have. This relates to your mitochondrial health, how we make sure that our mitochondria is working properly to make energy and to help with tuning up that battery. This is how our body makes its own deuterium depleted water by getting natural sunlight exposure. some of the things that I've talked about such as natural sunlight in the eyes, on our skin, doing grounding so actually attaching yourself to the Earth with bare feet it is amazing to pull up the Earth's electrons, that's going to help with your internal battery. Helping to power it up with more of those electrons.
