What Is Your Skin Telling You About Your Liver

Introduction

Did you know that if you have some issues with your liver health that it can actually be manifesting in your skin and your skin could be giving some indication as to the fact that you've got a liver problem. Well let's go through five of the common things that you may be seeing in your skin indicating that maybe you have a fatty liver or that your liver enzymes are a little bit elevated.

#1: Yellowing

Now it's called jaundice and means that your liver is in trouble. This is something that your definitely seeing your doctor about, but I do have tips coming up as to how we can address this naturally.

#2: Spider Angiomas

Spider angiomas look like little spiders so it's redness and a little flare of a blood vessel, often happening on the face, often found on the nose. It is an indicator of liver toxicity and this is commonly seen in a lot of alcoholics. You may notice that either on their face or on their nose area that they have these spider angiomas very commonly seen when the liver has become damaged.

#3: Red Palms

The third one on the list is redness of the palms. This is called Palmer Erythema and is another indication of liver toxicity.

#4: Liver Spots/Dark Spots

Number four is liver spots or dark spots that you see on the skin. Often they're found on the hands, they could be found on the face as well. They're called liver spots of course because of the relation to your liver toxicity.

#5: Psoriasis

This chronic inflammatory autoimmune condition is very much related to what's going on with your liver health as well. So it's something that you definitely want to always get checked, anything that you're seeing in your skin or any changes in your skin. But did you know that there are things that you can naturally do and I've got some tips.

Here are some tips for a healthy liver actually help you naturally to address your liver health and to do a bit of liver cleansing.

Tip 1: Full Body Detox

Consider doing a full body detox. A full body detox usually is a herbal combination of different herbal medicines that have been proven in science to actually help with detoxing and making your internal organs more efficient at dealing with that toxic load. Some of my favorites especially for the liver include milk thistle and dandelion. These are great, the root of the dandelion is fantastic for detoxifying that liver especially if you're seeing some of those skin symptoms of that liver toxicity.

Tip 2: Turmeric

Now turmeric with a concentrated curcumin at a 95 percentile is something that you're looking for if you're purchasing a turmeric supplement this is known now to really help with liver repair and helping to make the liver more efficient at secreting its bile acids and making sure that you're breaking down your fats properly but really can help to manage those high liver enzymes as well.

Tip 3: Garlic

Another great thing to be ingesting is more garlic. Now in this study, it was really interesting that there were significant reductions in weight, so body weight as well as the liver enzymes, total cholesterol and the bad cholesterol the LDL cholesterol even triglycerides came down with garlic in intake. That was compared to placebo in the study.  It was also found in research that the intake of garlic powder was accompanied by a significant improvement in hepatic steatosis. What is that? Liver fat. If you've got a fatty liver, increasing your garlic intake can be really helpful  as well as in combination. This is the way that I like garlic in combination with some other very powerful herbal medicines can really help with those high liver enzymes with that fatty liver. Some of my favourites are Commiphora wightii and guggusterones which also help to lower those cholesterol levels. Plant sterols like beta-sitosterol derived from natural sources and from plants help to decrease the absorption of some of the less favourable LDL cholesterol fantastic for managing cholesterol levels as well so you’ve got to eat your garlic.
