Here's something your doctor never told you about skin tags: if you have tiny skin tags, which are typically found on the neck, they might be related to your insulin levels and an issue called insulin resistance.

Concerning insulin resistance, we can see that when we do consume carbohydrates the body's response to inflammation allows the pancreas to secrete insulin to help control our blood glucose levels. Our cells can develop insulin resistance, which means that insulin and glucose don't function as they should and don't enter the cells to be metabolized and converted into energy.

As a result of increased insulin production and high blood glucose levels, people who are diabetic or have metabolic syndrome—which is typically preceded by leptin resistance—often experience weight gain because glucose is not converted to energy but is instead stored as fat. To learn more about leptin resistance check out my previous videos.

This whole complicated cycle is now producing more fat and causing more inflammation, and you can see how the cycle goes around and around with that insulin resistance. So, my advice here is to fix the entire cycle.

Limiting your intake of sugars and carbohydrates is the best way to prevent insulin resistance because whenever your blood sugar levels spike and you need to secrete more insulin, this can lead to the development of the condition. Eating more protein and healthy fats will help to stabilize your blood sugar levels and reduce leptin resistance.

When you eat a meal, try to eat your fibre, protein, and fats first. If you do have any carbohydrates, eat them later in the meal to help balance out the insulin. If you're looking for herbal remedies to help balance out your blood glucose level, look for things like muscadine grape skin, gymnema sylvester and African wild mango seeds as they are all excellent stabilizers.
