7 SIBO Tips You Need to Know

Introduction

If you are having problems with your gut health or have a lot of gas and bloating and are unsure of what to do; keep reading for my seven sibo suggestions.

Tip #1 Stop Snacking

Immediately put down your snack. We need to fast for something called our Migrating Motor Complex (MMC) to do its job. The MMC goes in and is like a cleanup mechanism that moves the proper bacteria into the right areas of the small and large intestine. When we keep snacking in between meals, the MMC can't do its job properly and our blood glucose levels are raised.

Tip #2 Eat Outside & In A Relaxed Setting

The best way to eat is outside and in a relaxed environment whenever you can. This is crucial for your circadian rhythms because your gut clock, microbiome, and other organs all have clock mechanisms that are highly related to the light and dark of the day. In fact, even the UV light around midday will instruct your gut what to do and program the right timing for proper digestion.

Tip #3 Digestive Enzymes

My third tip is to consider taking a digestive enzyme product, the one I love has 14 different plant-based enzymes that help to break down your food. If you're stressed out and not secreting your digestive enzymes, or if you're getting older and your secretion of digestive enzymes has become depleted, this is a great way to really help with that sibo and help to digest your food.

Tip #4 Herbal Medicines

The following herbal medications are some of my favorites for helping to truly wipe out those undesirable gut bacteria, including any parasites or candida. These herbal medicines such as black walnut and sweet annie— also known as artemisia, oregano and cloves kill intestinal worms and their eggs. This herbal combination is excellent for eliminating those undesirable organisms in the wrong place of the digestive tract at the wrong time.

Tip #5 Get More Fiber

Tip number five is to increase the amount of fiber in your diet, especially if you follow the typical North American diet. Eating more fibrous foods like fresh fruits and vegetables will help to bulk up the stool and sends the proper signals to the last part of the intestines to cause a proper bowel movement.
