SPRING DETOX 5 TIPS

Introduction

Here are five spring detox tips, and number five may be something you haven't tried yet. Spring is the best time to do a full body detox, so let's get to the tips.

#1 Get Outside

My first tip is to spend more time outside in nature, especially in a wooded area or at a beach. This will help your microbiome, which has a lot to do with your ability to digest and get rid of external poisons. Over 80% of our immunity comes from a healthy microbiome, so you should try to get outside and soak up some natural sunlight in a biodiverse environment.

#2 Eat Local

Tip number two is to eat local, fresh foods and as raw as you can. Eating local foods based on the season you’re in makes a big difference for your overall health and the body's ability to read the environment. This will sync your circadian rhythms if you're eating locally based on the season and how the natural sunlight is affecting the food that you're eating. Some very interesting research has gone into this, and it's also really important when you're trying to detox.

#3 Detox Herbs

Certain herbs are great for a full-body detox. Some of my favorite detox herbs are parsley, dandelion, burdock root, chlorella, bearberry and milk thistle. Burdock root helps cleanse the blood and lungs, and milk thistle is great for the kidneys and helps to heal the liver. Chlorella helps bind heavy metal toxins, and bearberry is another one of my favorites for a kidney detox. Doing a full-body detox in the spring is one of the best things you can do for your health.

#4 Foot Bath

My fourth tip is to do a foot bath with cleansing herbs. I do have a foot bath recipe video, so please check it out. This is great for kids and for people who want to step up their detox method by taking herbal medicines internally while drawing toxins out through the cleansing foot bath. It's amazing, you'll love it!

#5 Far Infrared Sauna

Tip number five is to use a far infrared or regular sauna.  A recent study has shown that using a sauna for 30 minutes, four times a week cuts the chance of heart attack by 50%, that's a lot! If  you aren’t able to use a sauna four times a week, even two or three 30-minute sessions will help to cut your risk of a heart attack by 27%. Those are big numbers, and they're a great sign. I'm in the far infrared sauna up to four times a week now, and I love it.

Even if you don't have a lot of time for exercise, this is a great way to get your heart rate up and detoxify through your sweat glands and perspiration. One of the only ways to get rid of fat-soluble toxins that are stuck in your fat cells is to sweat them out, so you'll love the detox effects of using a far-infrared sauna as part of your spring detox.
